The Wicked will Rise by Danielle Paige Release Date: March 31, 2015

Synopsis: In this dark, high-octane sequel to the New York Times bestselling Dorothy Must Die, Amy Gumm must do everything in her power to kill Dorothy and free Oz.

To make Oz a free land again, Amy Gumm was given a mission: remove the Tin Woodman’s heart, steal the Scarecrow’s brain, take the Lion’s courage, and then Dorothy must die….

But Dorothy still lives. Now the Revolutionary Order of the Wicked has vanished, and mysterious Princess Ozma might be Amy’s only ally. As Amy learns the truth about her mission, she realizes that she’s only just scratched the surface of Oz’s past—and that Kansas, the home she couldn’t wait to leave behind, may also be in danger. In a place where the line between good and evil shifts with just a strong gust of wind, who can Amy trust—and who is really Wicked?

My Thoughts:  I am not a huge fan of the covers of this series, but that does not mean that I do not like them. I think they serve their purpose. They reveal enough about the story, but leave some a mystery, just enough to keep me interested. I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series. I am so excited for the release of this book. I cannot wait to see how twisted this world can really become. It was so creepy and magical in the first book. I am really hoping that it is the same in this book. Is anyone else excited for this book? Or has anyone had a chance to get an early copy? If so, what did you think? I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this book.  Last, but not least, what is on your Wishlist Wednesday? I would love to know. Leave me a comment down below letting me know which books you are excited for this year!

those she hates the most. She quickly discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy Silver control.

But power is a dangerous game. And in this world divided by blood, who will win?

My Thoughts:  I absolutely LOVE this cover. I have heard nothing but good things about this book. It has been all over booktube and the girls over at Epic Reads keep talking about how awesome it is. If you are curious to see what it is all about here is a youtube video explaining what this book entails. This book is not released until February 10th!!! So close but yet so far! If any of you have had the opportunity to check this out early please let me know what your thoughts are. Also, if you are excited about this book let me know in the comment section! Wishlist Wednesday # 7

Wishlist Wednesday hosted by Pen to Paper is a book blog hop in which you post about one book per week that has been on your wishlist for a while or  that was just recently added (entirely up to you) that you cannot wait to add to your shelves.

I was going to choose Trial by Fire by Josephine Angelini, but I went to the store and bought it today! So, I can cross that off and add it to my I am extremely overabundant To Be Read shelf. So for this week I am going to choose something that does not get released until November. I am hoping that it comes out in November, because I have heard the release date for this book has been changed a few times. This weeks Wishlist Wednesday is…

The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

15768409Synopsis: Mara Dyer wants to believe there’s more to the lies she’s been told.
There is.

She doesn’t stop to think about where her quest for the truth might lead.
She should.

She never had to imagine how far she would go for vengeance.
She will now.

Loyalties are betrayed, guilt and innocence tangle, and fate and chance collide in this shocking conclusion to Mara Dyer’s story.
Retribution has arrived.

My Thoughts:  First off I have to say that I love the covers of these books. I think they are so alluring. They give off just enough about the book, but enough to make you wonder what this book could be about. I absolutely loved the first two books in the series. It is a crazy ride right until the end of the second where it leaves with this cliff hanger that just left me speechless. I am curious to see how this series ties up its loose ends and answers all the questions that have been going through my mind. How do you guys feel about this book? Are you excited? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section. Also, leave your Wishlist Wednesday! I love seeing what you guys are excited about!

Wishlist Wednesday # 6

This week for my wishlist Wednesday I am going to do two book once again. However, these two books are apart of the same series.

Wishlist Wednesday hosted by Pen to Paper is a book blog hop in which you post about one book per week that has been on your wishlist for a while or  that was just recently added (entirely up to you) that you cannot wait to add to your shelves.

Wishlist # 1: The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

the5thwaveSynopsis: After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker.

Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother—or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

This book has been on my wishlist for the better part of the year. I keep eyeing it at the store, but for some reason I have yet to buy it. Since the second book is coming out soon I better get to it.

Wishlist # 2 : The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

Infinite seaSynopsis: How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity.

Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others’ ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race.

Cassie and her friends haven’t seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.

I am so intrigued by the idea of the first book that I need to get my hands on the second one.

As always I want to know which book or books made your wishlist, so let me know in the comments below. Also, if you have read either of these books let me know your thoughts.

Wishlist Wednesday # 5

Once again I forgot about posting last week, because I have been so busy with work. So this week I am going to post 2 books that are on my wishlist.

Wishlist Wednesday hosted by Pen to Paper is a book blog hop in which you post about one book per week that has been on your wishlist for a while or  that was just recently added (entirely up to you) that you cannot wait to add to your shelves.

Wishlist # 1: Welcome to the Dark House by Laurie Faria Stolarz

THE_DARK_HOUSE_CAROUSEL_TK_5 SynopsisWhat’s your worst nightmare?

For Ivy Jensen, it’s the eyes of a killer that haunt her nights. For Parker Bradley, it’s bloodthirsty sea serpents that slither in his dreams.

And for seven essay contestants, it’s their worst nightmares that win them an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at director Justin Blake’s latest, confidential project. Ivy doesn’t even like scary movies, but she’s ready to face her real-world fears. Parker’s sympathetic words and perfect smile help keep her spirits up. . . at least for now.

Not everyone is so charming, though. Horror-film fanatic Garth Vader wants to stir up trouble. It’s bad enough he has to stay in the middle of nowhere with this group—the girl who locks herself in her room; the know-it-all roommate; “Mister Sensitive”; and the one who’s too cheery for her own good. Someone has to make things interesting.

Except, things are already a little weird. The hostess is a serial-killer look-alike, the dream-stealing Nightmare Elf is lurking about, and the seventh member of the group is missing.

By the time Ivy and Parker realize what’s really at stake, it’s too late to wake up and run

Today I went to Barnes and Noble while my husband was at work and I saw this cover from across the store and I was like “OOOO What is this?” So, I went over picked it up read the synopsis and I was intrigued. Then I decided to read a couple of pages and  put it down. So, as I continued to look around the store I could not get this book out of my head. I went back over picked it back up and started reading. Needless to say, I read 138 pages of it at the store. Now I want the book oh so badly. I was not able to purchase it today, but it is now on my birthday list. What I love about this book, thus far, is it is different from any book I have read, but it is something that everyone is familiar with. This book is like a campy horror movie (which is something I love). I am thinking that I have Thursday off from work that I may go back to Barnes and Noble and read a little more. Also, I thought this book was a stand alone book, it’s not!!! In the summer of 2015 the sequel will be released.

She’s connected to the woman responsible for killing and turning Cole’s mother. How can their relationship endure? I have only read the first one and I absolutely loved it! I own the second one and I need to own the third book when it is released on September 30, 2014 (Not to far away!!!). I did a review for  Alice in Zombieland earlier in my blog if you want to check it out. Be aware that it does contain a small amount of spoilers. Nothing major, but I know for some people it would spoil it for them. After I finish the book I am currently reading I am planing on reading the second book in the series so that I will be all caught up for the release of the third.

If anyone has read either of these books, please let me know what you thought in the comments below. Also, as always, I want to know what is on your wishlist! Leave me a comment letting me know!
