How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

I use a combination of Goodreads and my wish list on Barnes and Noble.

Is your TBR mostly print or e-book?

I think that it is pretty evenly matched. I try to buy series I already own in print form in print form and if it is a book that I don’t own in a series or anything by that author I will do an e-book. However, if the book has an awesomely beautiful cover I must buy it in print forms. Also, if it is a book by my favorite author(s) I usually will buy it in both print and e-book.

A Book That’s Been On Your TBR List The Longest

424578

This is a hard one. I have had a lot of my book collection since I was young and I just keep adding to the TBR pile. However, I believe the book that has been on my TBR list is Tunnel Vision by R. Patrick Gates. I got this book about 16 years ago. Then I purchased another book by him called Grimm Memorials and that book kind of put me off of him. I liked the idea of that book, but it was so twisted and so disgusting that I could not even finish it. So then I went to pick up Tunnel Vision I was leery of it and afraid that it was going to be like Grimm Memorials that I just put it back down. However, I keep it because I can’t say that all his books are terrible. I may read it one day….maybe.

I am excited for this book, because I keep hearing good things about it. I hear that it is creepy and I love a good creepy book!

A Book In Your TBR Strictly Because of Its Beautiful Cover

45ab45b78e0e76d4a0ff73ad1a64dfd2A Creature of Moonlight by Rebecca Hahn

I was at Barnes and Noble one day with my husband a good friend of mine and saw this book and had to buy just because of the cover. I knew nothing about it and now that I have read some information about it I am glad that I picked it up. It looks like a promising read.

A Book On Your TBR That You Never Plan on Reading

18116I usually do not buy books or put them on my TBR unless I have the intentions of reading them.  However, I do struggle with wanting to read the His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman. I saw the movie The Golden Compass and I enjoyed it. So, I went out and bought the books, but there was so much controversy surrounding these books that I have become a little off put by it. I am not sure if I will read it or not. However, I do feel like I spent the money on them so I should read them.

An Unpublished Book on Your TBR That You’re Excited For

15768409The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

I absolutely loved the first two books in the series!!! So, I cannot wait to see how everything ties together and how everything ends.

A Book On Your TBR That Basically Everyone’s Read But You

2e2e0f79ce58cdeaf538688eac9c15b4That would probably be The Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy by Lani Taylor. I hear nothing but good things and I really really want to read it. However, I want to own these books in Hardcover because they are so freaking beautiful, but I don’t want to spend the money on the whole set right now.

A Book On Your TBR That Everyone Recommends To You

luner-chroniclesThat would have to be the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. My husband just purchased the first two books in hardcover for me from Bookoutlet for my birthday next week. So, I will be reading those pretty soon. I hope.

A Book On Your TBR That You’re Dying To Read
witch with no nameThe Witch with No Name by Kim Harrison I am just waiting for my hardcover copy to arrive in the mail. Then every other book on my TBR will not matter until that one is finished. Kim Harrison is my all-time favorite author. Plus I want to finish the book before I go to her book signing event at the end of this month.

May Wrap Up/ Book Haul & June TBR

Hey guys! It has been quite a month for me. I have been so busy with work and home life I have had hardly no time to post on here. Just this past weekend my puppy got fixed, so my husband and I have spent most of the weekend trying to keep her from jumping and doing things that might tear her stitches. Matalina is one crazy pup! While Matalina was being fixed on Friday my husband and I went to the movies and saw Maleficent. I am not a huge fan of Angelina Jolie. However, this move was AMAZING! Between work and home life, I did however, find time to do some reading. This month I read a total of three books. While that is not a huge number that is quite a bit of reading considering that I was in a HUGE reading slump for the better part of a year. For the month of May I read Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins, Asylum by Madeline Roux and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin. I have already done a review for Rebel Belle and I am currently working on a Review for both the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer and the Evolution of Mara Dyer. I finished The Evolution of Mara Dyer on June 1st so it does not count for May (even though I started it in May). Oh well, it just means I already have one and half books down for June and it is only the 2nd! Now I am not sure if I am going to do a full review of Asylum (unless you guys want me to). However, I will say Asylum was good, but not as good as I thought it would be. I am interested in it enough to want to read the second book, but it was maybe like a 3.5 out of 5 stars on my scale. Meaning that I enjoyed it, but I did not love it. Now, onto my May book Haul. Last month (April) was a huge month of 20 new books, this month was half that size. For the month of May I bought a total of  books 9 books.

  1. Forever by Maggie Steivfater
  2. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
  3. A Creature of Moonlight by Rebecca Hahn
  4. White Space by Ilsa J. Bick
  5. Ready Player One by Earnest Cline
  6. Teardrop by Lauren Kate
  7. Written in Red by Anne Bishop
  8. Awake at Dawn by C.C. Hunter
  9. City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Claire

I know I keep saying that I am going to go on a book buying ban, but it so hard! As for my TBR for June I have a little plan, but if I stick to it is the question. So far, I have finished The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin and I am halfway through Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I plan to marathon the Mortal Instrument Series by Cassandra Claire. I have only read the first 4 books, and I thought I might as well start from the beginning so that everything is fresh in my mind when I pick up COHF. Other than that I have no clear plans of what I plan to read. What about you guys? What are you planning to read?  Have any of you read any of the books that I listed above? If, so leave a comment telling me what you thought. So, this is for now my fellow book lovers. Please keep a lookout for a few book reviews that I will be doing. I bid you adieu and happy reading.

March Wrap Up and April TBR

Hey Everyone! I hope that everyone had a great weekend. For the most part my weekend was excellent. I had to work Friday and Saturday, but now I have 3 days off. I will go back to work on Wednesday. On Sunday my husband and I took our dog Matalina to the vet for her final round of vaccines. Now, we just have one more appointment at the end of May to get her spayed. After our visit to the vet I made a detour to Barnes and Noble and bought Linger by Maggie Stiefvater. It is the second book in her Mercy Falls series. I am waiting for the third book Forever to come out in paperback, but I am sad to hear that it will not have the same cover as the ones I currently have. I have yet to read the first one, but I am excited to read it. I have heard mixed reviews on that series. So, if you have read the series leave a comment below and let me know what you thought of it. For the month of March I have only read one book and that was Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs. It was an amazing book. I did a review for that book in one of my earlier posts. It was not very detailed because I did not want to spoil it for anyone who has not read that book or the series yet. I am in a bit of a reading slump and have been for quite sometime. I have been trying anything and everything to get myself out of it, but I have yet to be successful. When you are in a reading slump, what do you do to pull yourself out of it? For the month of April I am going to try and at least read two to three books. After finishing, the Undead Pool by Kim Harrison (which I only have about 150 or so pages to go) I am going to read either Dirty Magic by Jaye Wells or Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige (I just have to wait for that to be delivered to my house). I am super excited to read Dorothy Must Die!!! I read the first 12 chapters that they released online and I cannot wait to continue to read this book. In one of my earlier posts I did a chapter to chapter review of the first 12 chapters.Currently, I have 6 books that are going to be delivered to my house. I am hoping that one of these 6 books will pull me out of my reading slump. I also, think that I need to put myself on a book buying ban. I need to read some of the books that I have not read on my shelves yet. I have so many. I also, think that I should maybe complete some of the series that I own, before I buy anymore books. A book buying ban will make my husband happy. I am going to do my best to not buy anymore books for the month of April. April has not even started yet…. We shall see if I can do this. In the comments below let me know what you are reading, what you are excited to read and what you are planning to read for the month of April. This is it for now. I bid you Adieu and Happy reading.
