How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

I use a combination of Goodreads and my wish list on Barnes and Noble.

Is your TBR mostly print or e-book?

I think that it is pretty evenly matched. I try to buy series I already own in print form in print form and if it is a book that I don’t own in a series or anything by that author I will do an e-book. However, if the book has an awesomely beautiful cover I must buy it in print forms. Also, if it is a book by my favorite author(s) I usually will buy it in both print and e-book.

A Book That’s Been On Your TBR List The Longest

424578

This is a hard one. I have had a lot of my book collection since I was young and I just keep adding to the TBR pile. However, I believe the book that has been on my TBR list is Tunnel Vision by R. Patrick Gates. I got this book about 16 years ago. Then I purchased another book by him called Grimm Memorials and that book kind of put me off of him. I liked the idea of that book, but it was so twisted and so disgusting that I could not even finish it. So then I went to pick up Tunnel Vision I was leery of it and afraid that it was going to be like Grimm Memorials that I just put it back down. However, I keep it because I can’t say that all his books are terrible. I may read it one day….maybe.

A Book You Recently Added To Your TBR

I am excited for this book, because I keep hearing good things about it. I hear that it is creepy and I love a good creepy book!

A Book In Your TBR Strictly Because of Its Beautiful Cover

45ab45b78e0e76d4a0ff73ad1a64dfd2A Creature of Moonlight by Rebecca Hahn

I was at Barnes and Noble one day with my husband a good friend of mine and saw this book and had to buy just because of the cover. I knew nothing about it and now that I have read some information about it I am glad that I picked it up. It looks like a promising read.

A Book On Your TBR That You Never Plan on Reading

18116I usually do not buy books or put them on my TBR unless I have the intentions of reading them.  However, I do struggle with wanting to read the His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman. I saw the movie The Golden Compass and I enjoyed it. So, I went out and bought the books, but there was so much controversy surrounding these books that I have become a little off put by it. I am not sure if I will read it or not. However, I do feel like I spent the money on them so I should read them.

An Unpublished Book on Your TBR That You’re Excited For

15768409The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

I absolutely loved the first two books in the series!!! So, I cannot wait to see how everything ties together and how everything ends.

A Book On Your TBR That Basically Everyone’s Read But You

2e2e0f79ce58cdeaf538688eac9c15b4That would probably be The Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy by Lani Taylor. I hear nothing but good things and I really really want to read it. However, I want to own these books in Hardcover because they are so freaking beautiful, but I don’t want to spend the money on the whole set right now.

A Book On Your TBR That Everyone Recommends To You

luner-chroniclesThat would have to be the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. My husband just purchased the first two books in hardcover for me from Bookoutlet for my birthday next week. So, I will be reading those pretty soon. I hope.

A Book On Your TBR That You’re Dying To Read
witch with no nameThe Witch with No Name by Kim Harrison I am just waiting for my hardcover copy to arrive in the mail. Then every other book on my TBR will not matter until that one is finished. Kim Harrison is my all-time favorite author. Plus I want to finish the book before I go to her book signing event at the end of this month.

Wishlist Wednesday # 6

This week for my wishlist Wednesday I am going to do two book once again. However, these two books are apart of the same series.

Wishlist Wednesday hosted by Pen to Paper is a book blog hop in which you post about one book per week that has been on your wishlist for a while or  that was just recently added (entirely up to you) that you cannot wait to add to your shelves.

Wishlist # 1: The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

the5thwaveSynopsis: After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker.

Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother—or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

This book has been on my wishlist for the better part of the year. I keep eyeing it at the store, but for some reason I have yet to buy it. Since the second book is coming out soon I better get to it.

Wishlist # 2 : The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

Infinite seaSynopsis: How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity.

Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others’ ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race.

Cassie and her friends haven’t seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.

I am so intrigued by the idea of the first book that I need to get my hands on the second one.

As always I want to know which book or books made your wishlist, so let me know in the comments below. Also, if you have read either of these books let me know your thoughts.

Wishlist Wednesday # 5

Once again I forgot about posting last week, because I have been so busy with work. So this week I am going to post 2 books that are on my wishlist.

Wishlist Wednesday hosted by Pen to Paper is a book blog hop in which you post about one book per week that has been on your wishlist for a while or  that was just recently added (entirely up to you) that you cannot wait to add to your shelves.

Wishlist # 1: Welcome to the Dark House by Laurie Faria Stolarz

THE_DARK_HOUSE_CAROUSEL_TK_5 SynopsisWhat’s your worst nightmare?

For Ivy Jensen, it’s the eyes of a killer that haunt her nights. For Parker Bradley, it’s bloodthirsty sea serpents that slither in his dreams.

And for seven essay contestants, it’s their worst nightmares that win them an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at director Justin Blake’s latest, confidential project. Ivy doesn’t even like scary movies, but she’s ready to face her real-world fears. Parker’s sympathetic words and perfect smile help keep her spirits up. . . at least for now.

Not everyone is so charming, though. Horror-film fanatic Garth Vader wants to stir up trouble. It’s bad enough he has to stay in the middle of nowhere with this group—the girl who locks herself in her room; the know-it-all roommate; “Mister Sensitive”; and the one who’s too cheery for her own good. Someone has to make things interesting.

Except, things are already a little weird. The hostess is a serial-killer look-alike, the dream-stealing Nightmare Elf is lurking about, and the seventh member of the group is missing.

By the time Ivy and Parker realize what’s really at stake, it’s too late to wake up and run

Today I went to Barnes and Noble while my husband was at work and I saw this cover from across the store and I was like “OOOO What is this?” So, I went over picked it up read the synopsis and I was intrigued. Then I decided to read a couple of pages and  put it down. So, as I continued to look around the store I could not get this book out of my head. I went back over picked it back up and started reading. Needless to say, I read 138 pages of it at the store. Now I want the book oh so badly. I was not able to purchase it today, but it is now on my birthday list. What I love about this book, thus far, is it is different from any book I have read, but it is something that everyone is familiar with. This book is like a campy horror movie (which is something I love). I am thinking that I have Thursday off from work that I may go back to Barnes and Noble and read a little more. Also, I thought this book was a stand alone book, it’s not!!! In the summer of 2015 the sequel will be released.

Wishlist # 2: The Queen of Zombie Hearts (White Rabbit Chronicles #3) By Gena Showalter

9780373211319_p0_v4_s600 Synopsis: (IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE FIRST OR THE SECOND BOOK DO NOT READ THE SYNOPSIS IT DOES CONTAIN SPOILERS).

I have a plan.

We’ll either destroy them for good, or they’ll destroy us.

Either way, only one of us is walking away.

It’s then she realizes that humans can be more dangerous than monsters; and the worst has only begun.

As the surviving slayers prepare for war, Ali discovers she, too, can control the zombies and she isn’t the girl she thought she was. She’s connected to the woman responsible for killing and turning Cole’s mother. How can their relationship endure? I have only read the first one and I absolutely loved it! I own the second one and I need to own the third book when it is released on September 30, 2014 (Not to far away!!!). I did a review for  Alice in Zombieland earlier in my blog if you want to check it out. Be aware that it does contain a small amount of spoilers. Nothing major, but I know for some people it would spoil it for them. After I finish the book I am currently reading I am planing on reading the second book in the series so that I will be all caught up for the release of the third.

If anyone has read either of these books, please let me know what you thought in the comments below. Also, as always, I want to know what is on your wishlist! Leave me a comment letting me know!

This has been on my wishlist for a while now as well. It is the same thing. I own it on my e-reader and have yet to read it. I am in LOVE with these covers. Though I do like the U.K. covers. I would love to own physical hardcover copies of these books.

Overall, I have heard nothing but good things about both of these books (as well as the series as a whole) and I am so excited to read both. Since my birthday is right around the corner I am hoping that my husband and or my family will buy me both of these series in its entirety. We shall see. If any of you have read any of these books please let me know what you think. Also, let me know what is on your wishlists in the comments below.
